In a normal year, the crunch is manageable. This year isn't normal. Charlotte FC is hosting the 2026 MLS All-Star Game at Bank of America Stadium, and it comes with a week-long celebration of soccer and culture with community programming, the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge, the MLS NEXT All-Star Game, and MLS All-Star Soccer Celebration.
Two events with regional draws are competing for the same Uptown tables during the same seven-day window. If your habit is to wait until Friday to book, break it this year.
Book the front half of Queen's Feast, not the weekend
The math is straightforward. All-Star traffic peaks Wednesday through Saturday of that week. Queen's Feast opens on a Friday, July 24, which means the first two nights of the promotion overlap directly with pre-game hospitality. Monday July 27 and Tuesday July 28 are the softest nights in the ten-day window, and they're also two of the last quiet nights before the stadium empties 74,000 people into Uptown.

Where to be on Saturday if you're not at the stadium
The Peruvian Festival lands the day before the game, not after, which is the piece most people miss. Charlotte Peruvian Festival is Saturday, July 25, 12 to 8 p.m. at Victoria Yards, 209 E 7th Street, $20 with kids under 10 free, featuring live music, folkloric dances of Peru, crafts by artisans, food, and entertainment for kids.
That timing matters. Saturday July 25 is one of the last calm nights before All-Star Week ramps up. Victoria Yards is a fifteen-minute walk from Truist Field and a ten-minute walk from the light rail, which makes it the easiest cultural anchor of the week if you're not driving into a stadium footprint.
The Peruvian Festival is also not the only Latin American event bookending the week. Festival Colombiano Multicultural is July 19 at First Ward Park, with live music, traditional dance performances, authentic cuisine, artisan vendors, and family-friendly activities. Between the Colombian festival the weekend before, the Peruvian festival the Saturday after, and Liga MX in the stadium on Wednesday, the back half of July reads like one continuous run of programming rather than three unconnected weekends.
The South End opening that changes the post-game plan
Uptown reservations will be gone. South End is where residents actually eat during weeks like this, and the neighborhood added a relevant option in the run-up to the game. Raíces is preparing to open at The RailYard South End, located at 1414 South Tryon Street, taking over the former Summerbird space, with a debut expected later this summer. Chef TJ Steele is leading the kitchen, and the menu includes handmade tortillas, generational moles, pozole, elevated small plates, and seasonal dishes made with locally sourced meats and produce.
Whether Raíces is open in time for All-Star Week or not, the RailYard corridor is already stacked. The same block includes Mi Cariño, a Mexican-Latin restaurant in South End by the owners of Vinyl at 1440 S Tryon Street, which gives the Liga MX crowd a walkable South Tryon axis that doesn't depend on getting an Uptown table.
