From November 8 to December 14, the Highland Creek Community Association runs eight holiday-season events and programs at four addresses, and each listing sets its own rule for who gets in. The fence at Prosperity Park honors residents only. A school gym on Cox Mill Road in Concord is open to anyone. The Golf Club's Tap Room admits a nonresident only as a resident's guest. The Sports Club takes Santa visitors as drop-ins, and its letter mailbox stays open through mid-December.
Once you know which guest list goes with which address, the season is easy to plan. You'll know who to invite and who has to stay home, and you'll know what to bring. All dates and details below come from the HCCA activities calendar.
Prosperity Park's fence is residents-only all November
The season opens at Prosperity Park, 5710 Fairvista Drive, on Sunday, November 8. The Veterans Movie Night shows Pearl Harbor there from 5:00 to 10:30 p.m. The HCCA listing gives the title, time and place, so check the calendar closer to the date if you need anything more.
Three days later the same park takes on its most personal role of the year. Starting Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, banners with the names and service branches of Highland Creek veterans hang on the Prosperity Park fence through the end of November. HCCA calls the campaign "Highland Creek Heroes." Registration was free and open only to residents, and it closed October 28, 2026. Every name on the fence in November belongs to a Highland Creek resident.
The banners aren't the only residents-only fixture at the park. Crazy Running LKN's eight-week youth running program meets at Prosperity Park from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. every Sunday through December 6. It's for ages 3 to 14, costs $130 for the program, and is open to Highland Creek residents only. So if you're at the park on November 8, you'll see the running program finish up a few hours before the movie starts.
Saturday, November 14, the gate opens to everyone, and it's in Concord
The next weekend, the circle gets much wider, and the event moves off Charlotte addresses entirely. The Mistletoe Market runs Saturday, November 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the gym at Cox Mill Elementary School, 1450 Cox Mill Road, Concord. HCCA's event page leaves no doubt about who's invited:
"Shopping is open to the public; please help spread the word!"
That line comes straight from the Mistletoe Market listing on highlandcreek.com. Of all the events on this season's calendar, it's the one with an outright invitation to bring the whole contact list. The market brings "dozens of vendors" into one room. The first 250 shoppers get a free tote. If the school lot fills, overflow parking is at Cox Mill High School across the street.
The vendor side shows how small the operation is. Vendors apply first, and once approved they pay $40 for one space measuring about 7 by 6 feet. They bring their own chair, a six-foot table and a floor-length tablecloth or skirt. Picture a gym full of tabletop booths, not a fairground. That's why the four-hour window goes faster than you'd expect.
A short plan for the morning:
- Arrive near the 10:00 a.m. opening if you want one of the 250 totes.
- Head straight for the Cox Mill High lot across the street if the elementary school lot is full.
- Send the HCCA listing to friends outside the neighborhood. This is the one event this season where anyone can come.
Sunday, November 15, the Tap Room needs a resident's name
Less than 36 hours after the market closes, the guest list tightens again. Casino Night 2026 runs Sunday, November 15, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Tap Room at Highland Creek Golf Club, 7101 Highland Creek Parkway. The gaming tables run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. On the floor: craps, roulette, blackjack and Texas Hold'em. Winnings in play money convert to tickets for six grand prizes and raffles, including a three-day, two-night trip for two to Las Vegas valued at up to $1,500. Each prize goes to a drawing at the end of the night.
The rules are stricter than anywhere else on the calendar. Admission is $75 per person, for ages 21 and up. You must register in advance, and no tickets are sold at the door. Nonresidents can attend only if a resident registers them as a guest. The DJ, hors d'oeuvres and starting play money are included in the price. Drinks and extra play money cost extra. The Casino Night registration page bills the night as a fundraiser for Z Safe Education, Inc.
Last year's version had a different spot on the calendar. The 2025 Casino Night was held Saturday, February 1, 2025, in the same Tap Room with the same games and the same Las Vegas prize, at $50 a person. The 2026 edition has moved from late winter into the holiday stretch, and the ticket price is up $25. It now falls the day after the market, so that weekend runs from the most open event of the season to the one with the tightest guest policy.

December turns the calendar back over to the kids
The last three events are aimed at families with young children, and each one asks you to bring something.
The Holiday Tree Lighting returns to Prosperity Park Field on Friday, December 4, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., with the Highland Creek Elementary School Choir. Children are asked to bring an ornament or decoration to hang on the tree, and HCCA will also hand ornaments out. Hot cocoa and cookies are free. By then, the veterans banners that went up on the park fence on November 11 will have come down at the end of November. The park the community used to honor its veterans in November becomes the site of its December tree.
The next morning the season moves to the Sports Club at 6616 Clarke Creek Parkway. Visit with Santa on Saturday, December 5, is a drop-in event from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with face painting, a train, a s'mores station, hot cocoa and cookies. Santa collects letters in person, so children who have written one should bring it. The visit also hosts a Toys for Tots drive that HCCA calls a Highland Creek tradition. Kids can have their photo taken with members of the U.S. Marine Corps, and donated toys must be new and unwrapped.
Kids who miss Santa that Saturday still have time. Starting December 5, the Sports Club has a special mailbox for letters to Santa, open during office hours through Monday, December 14. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Write the child's name and return address clearly if you'd like Santa to send a reply.
The HCCA listings for the tree lighting and the Santa visit don't state a guest policy. If you're bringing visiting relatives to either one, check with the Sports Club office during those same hours first.
What to have ready, by date
- Before November 14: Forward the Mistletoe Market listing to friends outside Highland Creek, since it's the season's public event.
- Before November 15: Buy Casino Night tickets in advance at $75 each, and register any nonresident as your guest. No tickets are sold at the door.
- December 4: One ornament per child for the Prosperity Park tree.
- December 5: A new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots, plus any finished letters for Santa.
- By December 14: Remaining letters in the Sports Club mailbox, each with a clear name and return address.
